A Star is born!

Hi. I’m Mell D, founder of Miss Seafari.

I thought I would give some light and insight into what motivated me to want to help others like myself!

I have always fluctuated with weight. As an adult it’s been up and down, up and down. Now I’m in my late 40’s, an added medical condition and perimenopause has made stabilising my weight even harder. This was creating a real problem for me. It was expensive having to update my wardrobe continually when I didn’t like how the fabrics felt against my body or the styles just didn’t compliment my curvy body shape.  Two years ago I decided to develop a kaftan range that you can wear everyday, that feels great to wear, is cool and comfortable, and could accommodate for weight fluctuations, hence our star Miss Seafari was born.

Recently I gained 8 kgs over the “Covid Period”, although I’m not sure how that happened. It was almost as if I woke up one day and majority of my wardrobe did not fit!  I tried on most of my wardrobe, and my husband was ducking for cover as I was getting extremely upset and frustrated.  I then decided to get out all of my Miss Seafari Kaftans and they all still fit me beautifully. Phew!

I felt instant relief that I could now still feel comfortable and stylish with my newly acquired body shape and was left feeling so proud to be the creator of Miss Seafari! I’m confident that my designs will help others feel cool, comfortable and stylish no matter the time of year too.
