How One Holiday Changed My Life! – Mell D founder

I was on vacation in Bali, Indonesia. Back then, I was a perimenopausal woman, drenched in sweat with fabric clinging to all the wrong parts of my body. I felt frumpy, unsexy, and overheated—on my vacation! (Can you believe it?) That’s when I realized that I was probably not alone, and that women’s resort clothing and kaftan dresses needed a major overhaul.— I knew I would be the one to do it.

Miss Seafari was founded on the belief that women deserve to feel beautiful, stylish, and comfortable at any age, and in any climate. We spent over 3 years researching premium fabrics and perfecting our designs to create timeless resort-inspired clothing. We wanted to create garments that complement all types of bodies and keep you feeling fresh.

Designed by women for women, our easy-to-wear kaftans and resort pieces are curve, bump, hot flash and hot-climate friendly. We wanted to create something you could wear everyday, so we kept it simple. Curve-flattering fits and high-quality breathable fabrics that help you stay cool on-the-go in the hottest conditions.

Our Design and Creation Process

We are a slow fashion brand, which means that, at every stage of production, we’re committed to doing right by others and the environment. We design each Miss Seafari piece in Brisbane, Australia, before it’s manufactured by hand at a family-owned factory in Indonesia.

This also means we have no strict production time schedules allowing our production partner to love and enjoy the process of making quality handmade garments for you. To do our part for our precious environment, we ship each Miss Seafari piece in recyclable or compostable packaging.

How We Support Our Local Community

To support our local community have partnered with another Australian designed label, and we also donate all factory seconds to our local Salvation Army.
